CRUCIBLE
Preamp saturation · Mac and Windows
A neural capture of a discrete transformer-coupled preamp — a 536-style input module from a classic American console of the mid-to-late seventies, running a 2623-type output transformer.
One dial moves from the cleanest capture to the most driven. Punch, a forward midrange, and transients that stay fast and defined.
It's cool on everything! That said, the usual suspects are drums, bass DI and electric guitar. The flavour is less about warmth than about attack.

BLOOM
Preamp saturation · Mac and Windows
A neural capture and reinterpretation of a 1073-style preamp — learned from real hardware. Everyone does a 1073 preamp, so here's one for free, that I think you'll like even more!
As thick as you'd expect!
It's one flavour that people reach for when they want something to sound bigger and more finished: a full, rounded low end, a thick and slightly dense midrange, and a smooth top that stays musical when pushed instead of turning harsh.

PATINA
Input saturation · Mac and Windows
The input stage of a 1970s transistor tape recorder, captured as it is — worn, a little noisy, and full of character. One stepped character control, and a panel built around a turning reel. In development.

WESTWOOD HALLS
Convolution reverb · Mac and Windows
A hall reverb built from convolution captures of uncommon and uncaptured spaces. Each room is recorded from several microphone positions — close, mid and far — which you blend like mixing a real session. In development.
IN DEVELOPMENTAbout
Hello, I'm Ted. I engineer and produce music, and work in live sound and theatre.
I love hardware — but I wanted the equipment I like using to be available when the hardware isn't in the room. That's the whole idea behind Westwood Industries plugins. They should feel tactile and be really easy to use; something you reach for and adjust by feel, not something you have to read or watch a video about, unless you really want to!
What matters most to me is people actually using these tools to make cool music and awesome projects. I also want the pricing to stay accessible, and not shut anyone out.
Everything is designed, built and tested by me, in Leeds. That means the range grows slowly, but it also means the person who answers your email is the person who designed the product.
